Did you know? Many humans find large eyes more attractive than smaller ones. Due to this preference, several dogs breeds were selectively bred to have more prominent eyes compared to their ancestors. This change in eye size though has come with a price: increased risk of eye diseases and trauma to the cornea. Pugs in particular are known to develop what's called "eye proptosis" where the eye literally pops out of the socket.
