Treeing is a hunting method that employs dogs who were purposely bred for the task.

Did you know? Treeing is a hunting method involving dogs who were selectively bred for the task. The dog's main task is chasing animals that tend to go up a tree such as raccoons. The task doesn't end here though. Once the animals are ‘treed” good treeing dogs must be willing to bark persistently to alert the hunters.

Dogs bred for treeing include the treeing walker coonhound, the black and tan Coonhound, the bluetick coonhound, the American English Coonhound, the redbone coonhound and the plott hound. Feists and curs are other dogs that are also known for being used for treeing.
