Did you know? Catahoula leopard dogs have webbed feet.
Although most dogs have some level of webbing between their toes, the Catahoula leopard dog has feet with more prominent webbing that extends almost to the ends of the toes.
Why did these dogs need such webbing? Most likely because Catahoulas were bred to work in marshy areas and the webbing aids them in swimming. There is indeed belief that these striking dogs were used by the Indians to hunt game in swamps.
